Expecting tax forms sometime in the following two weeks. Library is unable to offer a tax preparation program this year

In answer to the many requests for tax forms, we are expecting tax forms sometime in the following two weeks.

In answer to the many requests for library-based tax prep programs, the New York State Department of Taxation has responded,

“In 2018, we are piloting group FSA settings in order to serve more taxpayers in a single session.   In order to do so, we are looking at sites that have separate rooms with 8-10 computers.   This would allow us to assist between 25-40 taxpayers each day.”

As the Cohoes Public Library does not have a separate room with 8-10 computers, the New York State Department of Taxation will not provide a tax prep program here.

We will be ready for your book donations on Friday, February 2nd

We have almost finished prepping our new book donation room and will be ready to receive donations on Friday, February 2nd. We appreciate your patience with us during this time, and we look forward to receiving your donations.
