<p>On May 16, at 6:30 pm, the Hidden Treasures Book Club will be discussing &#8220;Dreams of Joy&#8221; by Lisa See. <p><strong>Mystery Book Club</strong></p>
<p>On May 16, at 10:30 am, the Mystery Book Club will be discussing the &#8220;Murder She Wrote&#8221; mystery series by Jessica Fletcher and Donald Bain. Based on the long running television series by the same name, the book series offers readers familiar characters and the same P.G. mysteries that regularly enthralled viewers for 12 years. Beginning in 1989, and with over thirty titles in the series, there is a story for everyone&#8217;s taste. Books available at the library. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On Wednesday, May 2, at 6 p.m., the Cohoes Public Library will host Russell Dunn and Barbara Delaney, popular authors of numerous regional waterfall guides, the Trails with Tails series and kayaker&#8217; guides. They will share stories of their hiking adventures, discuss some of the waterfalls, including the Cohoes Falls mentioned in their Hudson Valley Waterfall guide, talk about their new series of kayak guides and answer questions. The Waterfall guides include Hudson Valley, Adirondack, Catskill, Mohawk and Berkshire Regions. Enjoy &#8220;history hikes&#8221; with the two Trails with Tails series; and discover Adventures around the Great Sacandaga Lake&#8221; and the newest addition to their outdoor repertoire,  A Kayaker&#8217;s Guide to New York&#8217;s Capital Region. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>The Cohoes Public Library is proud to offer beginner computer classes starting this Spring.</strong></p>
<p>Classes will begin on April 16th at 10:30am and run into June. These classes are free and laptops will be supplied for student use. Class size is limited to 8 students per session so please sign up ahead of time using the sign-up sheet at the bulletin board or the Library’s front desk.</p>
<p>The following beginner computer classes are scheduled:<br />
<strong>April 16<sup>th</sup> &#8211; Introduction to Computers </strong><br />
<strong>Audience</strong> &#8211; People who have never touched a computer before.<br />
<strong>Content</strong> – Teach basics of keyboard, mouse. How to turn a computer on and off.  How to start up programs, especially web browser. Show how to bring up a web site, how to click on links. Show how to print. Demonstrate how email works.<br />
<strong>April 23<sup>rd</sup> &#8211; Web Surfing </strong><br />
<strong>Audience</strong> – People with basic keyboard and mouse skills.<br />
<strong>Content</strong> – Show how to start up and use an internet browser, how to find and use basic web sites, such as search engines, retail sites, newspapers. Where does this data come from? How trustworthy and accurate is this data? Basics of internet security (passwords/https), and dangers<br />
<strong>April 30<sup>th</sup> &#8211; Email Accounts </strong><br />
<strong>Audience</strong> – People with basic keyboard and mouse skills.<br />
<strong>Content</strong> – Students will sign up for an email account (gmail), and learn how to compose, send and receive mail messages. They&#8217;ll also learn how to add and open attachments.<br />
<strong>May 14<sup>th</sup> &#8211; Microsoft Word</strong><br />
<strong>Audience</strong> – People with basic keyboard and mouse skills.<br />
<strong>Content</strong> –The basics of creating, saving and printing documents.  Basics of formatting, indentation, page breaks, spell check.<br />
<strong>May 21<sup>st</sup> &#8211; Microsoft Excel</strong><br />
<strong>Audience</strong> – People with basic keyboard and mouse skills.<br />
<strong>Content</strong> – The basics of creating, saving and printing spreadsheets. How to perform calculations, sort data, generate graphs. Organization of a simple database.<br />
<strong>May 28<sup>th</sup> &#8211; Microsoft Powerpoint</strong><br />
<strong>Audience</strong> – People with basic keyboard and mouse skills.<br />
<strong>Content</strong> – The basics of generating a Powerpoint presentation. Formatting pages, incorporating graphs and images, printing.<br />
<strong>June 4<sup>th</sup> &#8211; Microsoft Access</strong><br />
<strong>Audience</strong> – Some basic familiarity with databases, their purpose and use.<br />
<strong>Content</strong> – To be determined by the needs, interests of the audience.<br />
<strong>June 11<sup>th</sup> &#8211; Job Hunting Online </strong><br />
<strong>Audience</strong> – People with basic keyboard and mouse skills.<br />
<strong>Content</strong> – How to fill out an online job application.  Basics of generating a resume. Online job resources and how to search for a job online.</p>
