Lots of great programming next week to celebrate National Library Week

Coming up on Monday:

Monday 4/9
·      Author Pauline Bartel to Speak from 2-3pm – Pauline Bartel is an award-winning writer and author of seven popular culture books, including The Complete GONE WITH THE WIND Trivia Book (2 nd edition). Author, teacher and entrepreneur Pauline Bartel shares the remarkable story of how she sold her first book to the first publisher that reviewed the manuscript, and and how she built an award-winning corporate communications consultancy by delivering to clients the write stuff.
·      Photography Club 6:00PM – open to the public!
·      Erik Schlimmer, Founding Member of the Friends of the Trans Adirondack Route, to speak on Adirondack Place Names 6:30pm Adirondack Place Names: Why is that Thing over There Called That?” Author and explorer Erik Schlimmer historically decodes 100 Adirondack place names in rousing detail, these histories supported by a backdrop of his gorgeous photos from the wilderness. As Erik likes to say, “Behind every name there’s a story, and the story’s usually pretty good.

·      Presentation by the USS Slater museum 10:30AM
·      BeauKnitters Knitting and Crocheting Club welcome those who would like to learn to knit
Friday – April 13, 20th, 27th, and May 4th
·      QiGong classes by Diana Wells, certified and licensed QiGong Healer and Teacher. 10:30am

Fine Forgiveness week!!
We will also be offering a Food Drive to support the City’s Food Pantries. Bring your donations to the library that week and we will forgive fines on your card. Please consider items such as toothbrushes and toothpaste, shampoo, soap, feminine hygiene products, deodorant, toilet paper, paper towels, detergent and dish detergent, as these are often in short supply. (Certain limitations apply. Ask library staff for details.)

During the week we will also have on display selections from the Choose Cohoes for Art collection, as well as an assortment of examples from Ms. Linda Larmon’s personal doll collection.
